New Graduate Program on Imaging and Analytics of Biomedical Tissue Interfaces
This funding will enable us to establish a scientific training structure led by the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), which focuses on the health of the human musculoskeletal system. In addition to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hamburg and TUHH, several research institutions in Hamburg—such as DESY in Bahrenfeld and the Helmholtz Center Hereon—are involved in the graduate program.
In terms of content, the project therefore represents a special collaboration in the metropolitan region in the field of health, integrated as one of six profiles in the PIER PLUS association of Hamburg's scientific institutions. In the coming years, around 30 ambitious young scientists are to be trained in the network with a total of 7 million euros in funding.
Thank you to all our partners for this tremendous success of the ICCIR!

Congratulations Dr. Debayan Bhattacharya! 🎉 PhD officially complete!
We congratulate Dr. Bhattacharya on his PhD thesis titled ‘Deep Learning for Paranasal Anomaly Classification’. Debayan pursued a joint PhD under the supervision of TUHH and UKE!
First Prize at the Studierendentagung 2024 for an ICCIR Project
We want to congratulate Nico Fischer on winning the first prize at the Hamburg Life Science Studierendentagung 2024! Nico has researched in collaboration with MTEC and IOBM on how to efficiently track zebrafish with deep learning methods.

The Research Area “Medical Technology & Biomechanics” of the TUHH introduces itself
We warmly invite you to a research afternoon as part of the interdisciplinary initiative PIER PLUS. Groups from the research area “Medical Technology and Biomechanics” at TU Hamburg, which combines research expertise from engineering, computer science and mathematics with a connection to medical technology will present their current work and are looking forward to deepening contact with clinicians interested in medical technology research. The event will take place on February 27th, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. in N81 at the UKE.
